Psalm 71:8 “My mouth is filled with your praise, and with your glory all the day.”

Something the Lord is teaching me these past few weeks is inviting Him into my everyday life-the mundane. Yea, getting up early and journaling and doing all the things is great, but He doesn’t want us to stop there. He wants to be apart of our everyday life, and it is so easy to do.  He is already everywhere. We don’t even have to ask him to be with us because he already is, we just have to enter and be aware of his presence.

This is something I started to feel convicted of because sometimes I would sleep in and I would miss my ‘quiet time’ and feel that I needed to rush to be able to fit it in my schedule. But- he doesn’t want our time with him to be a chore or routine. So, this past week I made it a priority to be intentional to ask Him to be apart of my day-not just when I am reading the Bible, but when I am eating, playing games, and working out.

And that is worship!!!! A heart posture. Coming to the Lord with a heart that is ready to give and receive to and from Him. We worship what is high on our priority list, and if God is not our first priority we cannot give Him our proper worship. Singing and dancing! Music.  This is probably how most of us spend our time worshipping. Including me. We can listen to it anywhere. While we are worshipping through music it is important that our heart is in the right spot. Our heart needs to be fixated on giving God the glory he deserves- whether that is with our hands high in the air or in a quiet manner. Giving something the glory they deserve. Serving Him. Trusting! Surrendering our earthly desires. Something I have to choose into each day is waking up and making my first thoughts about God. It is easy for me to wake up and start thinking about what I have to do, or replay things in my head that happened the day before. Serving. As simple as inviting Him into our everyday lives like I mentioned before. Serving him while in a meeting for work or getting together with friends. This delights and brings joy to our Father- when we use our gifts by bringing heaven down to Earth through our everyday life. Displaying substantial love to something. And when you love someone- you want it to know what’s going on in your life, you want it to experience you joy, pain and sorrow and walk alongside you through it all.

This is a little bit about what the Lord has been teaching me and walking me through and I wanted to invite you all into that! There are so many other ways to worship than just these, but when your heart is in the right spot worshipping will and can come so naturally.

How can you invite God into your everyday and is there anything you need to surrender to make that happen?

One response to “what it means to worship”

  1. I love this ! Yes yes yes – worship is a heart posture, a life style and – when we practice it more and more, we become it. Our whole being and life a testimony of God’s goodness and glory, a well of worship on the earth, calling heaven down.
